Did you know? (2)

Did you know that the space hotkey not only collapses a group of channels into a folder but can also be used to quickly add more of the same channel to the channelgraph.

Here’s how:

Select a channel/template from the channel list/templates list (you will probably use this a lot on values, text, and vector channels), then hover over the channelgraph and point the mouse where you want the new channel to appear, then hit SPACE, then mouse over (without deselecting the channel in the list) to another location where you also want this new channel and again hit space, etc., etc.

Was this useful for you? (DYK2)

Another good initiative was started by Mark v. H. he created an IRC channel for Quest3D (and no IRC is not, however helpfull, the International Red Cross, readup on the topic here).

Now next to the forum, we can chat in real time with other Quest3D users.

Here’s how to join:

  • Open the following address in your IRC client (mIRC) irc://irc.freenode.net/#quest3d
  • Or…navigate to #quest3d via the online IRC client Mibbit
  • Or…for more detailed instructions go to the forumpost

Thanks Mark!

Quest3D Knowledge base

Quest3D | Knowledge BaseWhich started out as an Utopian dream for most Quest3D users just recently became reality. A true Quest3D knowledge base! The knowledge base is a free service maintained by ovos realtime3D and initiated by Jochen Kranzer.

Not only is this a great initiative but it seems to work an behave very good. With a nice (dare I say) web 2.0 touch and feel to it, it’s a breeze to upload your creations or browse through the expanding amount of tutorials, templates, and small tips.

I’d say with this knowledge base a very good foundation is put down for a fast growing and good (alternative) resource for many Quest3D users.

And now go visit http://quest.jowe.biz/ http://knowledgebase.quest3d.com to browse and more importantly upload tutorials and templates. If you want to stay updated there is also an rss feed to get the latest items into your favorite newsreader.

Thanks for the effort and initiative Jochen and Ovos, keep it up!
